Bumiayu, Brebes

Bumiayu is a sub-district in Brebes district, Central Java, Indonesia. Bumiayu is central of societies activities in south of Brebes such Tonjong, Sirampog, Bantarkawung, Salem and Paguyangan. 

This sub-district is located in the highland. Bumiayu is transportation main track of Tegal – Purwokerto, and train track of Jakarta- Cirebon- Purwokerto – Yogyakarta – Semarang – Surabaya. In Bumiayu, train station is one of the important discontinuation in this area. 

In this city, most of Bumiayu societies have livelihood as merchant. Trade area Bumiayu is from Talok to Jatisawit. Bumiayu has several market such Talok, Bumiayu, Kalierang, Majapahit, Wagean and Jatisawit market. The popular market of Bumiayu is Wagean market. This market is only open every five days according on Javanesse calender. 

To decrease trafic jam in this city, ministry of Brebes build a ring road. The road is stretched out from Talok to Pagojengan and crossing under train brigde of Sakalibel or sakalimalas.
